Roman jeweler Bvlgari, known for upending the rules of jewelry design by combining vivid colours and gemstone shapes has just introduced a ground-breaking fragrance collection that allows you to design your own personalized scent experience. It’s called “Allegra” and it celebrates the one-of-a-kind glamour of Italian women through five exhilarating fragrances and five Magnifying essences.

Here’s how it works: to personalize your scent, first choose one of the five eaux de parfum in the core collection. Infused with the radiant vitality of Italy, the five scents are a tribute to Romans’ boundless energy. Each fragrance wraps you in the irresistible delight of an Italian escape: the energizing sun of the Mediterranean Sea, the excitement of Italian love, the soothing pleasure of Italian dolce, the fun of a sunset aperitivo in Rome, and the enchantment of a Venetian festa.

Once you have selected a core fragrance, you can enhance the emotion of a favourite note through an industry first: five exclusive essences designed to blend seamlessly with any of the eaux de parfum. Love vanilla? Spritz the Vanilla Magnifying Essence over your fragrance. Prefer the warmth of musk? There’s a magnifying essence for that as well. The best part of these Magnifying essences is that they will work with any of the fragrances you already own.

To bring this vision to life, Bvlgari enlisted the talents of Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier who crafted the award winning Bvlgari Eau Parfumée Au Thé Blanc (white tea).

“I was totally inspired by the Italian soul,” he says. “This Italianity that we are talking about, that everyone envies Italy and that no one succeeds in equalling. It’s 3,000, 4,000 years of history, and it goes back to its roots that are very deep but still extremely modern because they are values that have gone through the centuries and history…all roads lead to Rome, all magnificent raw materials lead to Rome, all perfumes lead to Rome.”

Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier was born in the epicenter of perfumery, Grasse, France. Surrounded by jasmine fields, he developed a lifelong passion for exceptional raw materials. In fact, his earliest memory is of culling blossoms at five in the morning, and, out of pure ardor, he’s been refining a single jasmine accord for 25 years—a boundless dedication and artistry on par with Bvlgari’s visionary expertise. With Cavallier’s acute appreciation of everything

sophisticated and precious, the brilliant perfumer has been uniquely able to create a new and beautiful olfactory language, Bvlgari Allegra, bringing the joys of Italy to life. In each Bvlgari Allegra scent, the distinctive Roman spirit and the daring Italian style resonate and beckon to another famous epicenter, The Eternal City. As Cavallier says, “All perfumes lead to Rome.”

“Bvlgari Allegra is an opportunity to fully be yourself with your very own perfume that others won’t have thanks for the Magnifying essences,” explains Cavallier.

The Allegra fragrances do put a smile on my face. My fav is the dolce estasi…notes of citrus, heliotrope and musks. Never met an Italian dessert, I didn’t like, and this fragrance is certainly a sweet reminder.
