Bvlgari upgrades Omnia to eco-conscious glass bottles and sustainable packaging

One of Italian luxury brand Bvlgari’s most beloved fragrance collections is getting a packaging makeover this month. Omnia Crystalline, Omnia Coral and Omnia Amethyste will be housed in new eco-conscious glass flacons that give the fragrances a clean, modern look. With an eye to sustainability and renewable raw materials, the new glass bottle and cardboard packaging will have a substantially lower carbon footprint using the expertise of LVMH R&D teams. These new bottles will be more earth-friendly than the original designs. Boxes will incorporate recycled fibres and paper from sustainable producers.

The original bottle silhouette caused a sensation in 2005 when the famous Italian jeweller unveiled the interlocking design, a nod to the exquisite designs crafted in the Rome ateliers. (Elizabeth Taylor was one of Bvlgari’s biggest fans amassing an impressive collection over her lifetime.) You’ll notice the shape remains the same, only this time it is fashioned from glass.

The flacon was inspired in particular by the BZero ring – which was a nod to the Roman Colesesum shape. You’ll notice something special in the new design. Inside the cap you’ll discover a Parentesi design – similar to the travertine blocks on the cobblestone streets of Roman. You could call is a love letter to Rome.

The popular Omnia fragrances remain exactly the same. The only change is the new bottle and packaging design.

Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline

Inspiration: the water-clear crystalline quartz also known as ‘rock crystal’

Symbol: purity and limpidity, evoking the clarity and shimmer of water.

Fragrance Description: This gentle and airy floral for her was created by perfumer Alberto Morillas who was inspired by the perfection of crystal. He blends soft bamboo, smooth nashi fruit, lotus blossom and woods. It’s subtle, clean and comforting.

Bvlgari Omnia Coral

Inspiration: precious coral or red coral is the common name given to ‘corallium rubrum’ and throughout history has been used as protection and thought to have mysterious sacred properties in metaphysics. Torre de Greco, near Naples, Italy) has been the top coral trading center for over 200 years.

Symbol: happiness, wisdom and immortality

Fragrance Description: This sparkling fruity-floral scent for her was created by perfumer Alberto Morillas who took inspiration from the polished coral jewelry crafted by Bvlgari’s master craftsmen in Rome. He opens the composition with notes of goji berry, pomegranate and bergamot and then blends in gentle water lily, hibiscus, musk and cedar. It’s optimistic and light-hearted.

Bvlgari Omnia Amethyste

Inspiration: Amethyst is considered the most striking and precious purple quartz.

Symbol: A gem of deep spirituality, once as valued as ruby, emerald and sapphire

Fragrance Description: This romantic woody-floral scent for her was created by perfumer Alberto Morillas who took inspiration of the rich purple colour of amethyst gemstones. He pairs pink grapefruit and green notes with soft iris and bright Bulgarian rose. This blends nicely with heliotrope and smooth woods. It’s an ideal day scent.
