Fragrance Bottles as Tree Ornaments

Here’s a wonderful way to give your empty fragrance bottles a new life: as tree ornaments. You can create your own perfume Christmas tree using a mix of both regular size and miniature bottles.

We particularly love how MCM bottles look on a tree. The backpack-shaped bottles are designed with a handle on the top of the flacon which makes it easy to hang from tree boughs. Simply buy a package of ornament hooks from a craft store and you have instant decorations. For bottles that don’t have handles on the top, you can use a dab of superglue on the cap and secure the ornament hook. You’ll just need to give it a little time to dry before hanging it.

Of course, miniature perfume bottles are ideal for this concept as the mini size allows you to dress small trees or garlands on a mantle or stairway. You could even create a signature centrepiece for your festive table. To give it a harmonious look, try to stick to a colour scheme such as green and red, gold or even icy blue. You could even surprise guests with a little bottle of fragrance at their table setting for a holiday dinner. We’ve seen designers place a bottle on the linen table napkins which looks very chic.

What we love about these ideas is it honours the incredibly talented bottle designers, artists and production teams to spend years developing the most beautiful perfume flacons. It’s a shame to throw them out when the bottle is empty. This way, you can admire the silhouettes and designs for years to come.
