This month sees the debut of Bvlgari Allegra Passegiatta. (Passeggiata is the Italian term for ‘stroll’. Jacques has blended a scent that in his words ‘echoes lively good times’. It’s a fresh, yet generous floral-musk scent for her that pairs the sunny, radiant character of ylang-ylang flower with a fresh, juicy milky musk.

Ylang-Ylang’s shining moment

Ylang-ylang flower boasts a dreamy and romantic aroma that is floral with facets of creamy, balsamic, sugary honey and powdery custard. It is similar to intoxicating jasmine. Perfumers love to work with it because it blends very well with other flowers and ingredients. It has a richness that makes a fragrance smell luxe and special.

The scent of ylang-ylang is extracted using steam distillation which delivers a potent essential oil. A grading system is used to classify the type and strength of the oil. Bvlgari uses the very finest ylang-ylang essential oil in the world.
