Lacoste Original Eau de Parfum, a scent inspired by movement

There’s a new era in Lacoste fragrances debuting this month. It’s the first fragrance from a new long-term partnership between the iconic French fashion brand and Interparfums, a global fragrance house based in Paris that creates scents for Moncler, Coach, Jimmy Choo and Montblanc. Introducing Lacoste Original Eau de Parfum, a fresh ambery-fougere fragrance for him that is a nod to the Lacoste Original Eau de Toilette that launched in 1984. And as you’d expect, the fragrance is quintessentially French.

What makes this eau de parfum particularly interesting is that the composition and notes were chosen to express movement – just as you’d find tennis players exhibiting on a court. Perfumers Anne Flipo and Tanguy Guesnet collaborated in developing the fragrance. “As a brand, Lacoste combines timeless freshness with creative frenzy,” says Flipo. “The idea behind this sophisticated fragrance is to express movement in all its forms in a unique, powerful creation.”

“Anne and I worked on a citrus freshness with fiery spices to convey movement in this fragrance,” adds Guesnet. “Zesty notes of bergamot, combined with the liveliness of cardamom and pink peppercorn, make it a highly dynamic and modern scent.”

Lacoste Original EDP opens with the intense, tangy freshness of bergamot, enhanced by spicy pink peppercorn and cardamom accents. (Cardamom has a warm, spicy and slightly sweet aroma with hints of lemon, mint and woods)  These explosive top notes give way to the elegance of lavender and clary sage, which form an intense aromatic heart. At the base, sensual sandalwood and powerful patchouli lay the foundations of a potent sillage (fragrance trail) that blends comforting amber with addictive tonka bean.
