Michael Kors’ Blockbuster fragrances drop
New York fashion designer Michael Kors, famous for his jet-set lifestyle design ethos is back this month with a pair of showstopping fragrances in breathtakingly beautiful bottles. With Michael Kors Pour Femme and Pour Homme, the designer offers his take on modern sophistication, glamour and luxury in the form of premium fragrance. The women’s edition is a floral-woody-musk scent; the men’s a citrus-spicy-woody fragrance that evokes joy, warmth and energy.
“My latest fragrances are all about strength and sexiness. From the chain-link bottles to the distinctive notes like jasmine, patchouli, bergamot and sage, I wanted them to convey a sense of modern glamour and power. It’s about adventure, adrenaline, and living life to the absolute fullest. I want people to be transported”, he says.
Micheal David Kors was born August 9th, 1959 in Long Island New York to model Joan Hamburger and Karl Anderson Sr. At age five, Michael had his surname changed to Kors when his mother married Bill Kors. He redesigned his mother’s wedding dress for her second marriage. Clearly fashion was a passion at an early age and in 1977 he enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City where he studied for nine months before quitting to work a boutique called Lothar’s across from Bergdorf Goodman on 57th Street. He thrived in this venue and moved from salesman to designer and then visual display head. He’s eventually launch his signature collection at Bergdorfs and quickly built an impressive business. Fans of his work include Nicole Kidman, Blake Lively, Taylor Swift, Michele Obama and Emily Blunt.
Michael Kors became a household name when he joined reality tv show Project Runway as a judge. His witty one-liners were laugh-out-loud funny and he became one of Bravo’s most popular celebrities. He says one of the highlights of his career was designing the wardrobe for Rene Russo in the remake of the Thomas Crown Affair.

The Sculptural Fragrance Bottles
The dramatic, distinctive design of the Michael Kors Pour Femme and Pour Homme bottle is inspired by a chain-link motif that is central to Michael Kors’ design aesthetic. The designer has long been inspired by the luxury, modern glamour, and graphic impact of chain-link hardware, whether worn as jewelry, on ready-to-wear or on his iconic handbags.
For the designer, the chain is a powerful fashion symbol, evoking both uptown polish and downtown edge, opulence and refinement, connection and individuality. The bold scale of the chain on the bottle beckons the wearer with its outsize form and luminous metallic finish. It is both invitation and encouragement – an irresistible siren call.
The Ad Campaign – Glamorous Miami
The ad campaign for Michael Kors Pour Femme and Pour Homme embodies the luxury, sensuality and sense of escape evoked by the fragrances. Shot by Lachlan Bailey and starring Irina Shayk and Jon Kortajarena, the campaign takes place on a private yacht in Miami – an urban destination with international appeal that, like other resort cities around the world, is as sexy as it is sophisticated. The two stars are confident, strong and glamorous, with a chemistry that is palpable. In both the imagery as well as the captivating narrative video, shot by Minka Farthing-Kohl, their dynamic is at once effortless and charged, dramatic and playful. Every detail, from the dazzling stars and opulent yacht to the striking fashion and shimmering city lights, underscores the power and joy of living each moment to the fullest.
