The Moschino brand was founded in 1983 by the late Franco Moschino (1950 – 1994) who caused a sensation with his innovative, colourful and sometimes eccentric fashion designs. He used his catwalk to make political and social statements about the world with a cheeky sense of humour. He loved incorporating teddy bear motifs into his collections. After his untimely death, Franco was replaced by Rosella Jardini, a former assistant who took over the design duties for the house. She would go on to design the outfits for the opening ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. Moschino would also design outfits for Kylie Minogue’s 2005 Showgirls world concert tour and Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball.

Fashion designer Jeremy Scott joined Moschino in 2013 and is credited with adding a contemporary and creative energy to the brand creating collections around game shows, Barbie dolls and jet-set socialites.
