Collector miniature fragrance sets have become a global phenomenon over the past 12 months. Originally produced only during the holidays for gift giving and stocking stuffers, these sets of 5 ml versions of regular designer scents are consistently top sellers both online and instore. Collector clubs on Facebook and Instagram have sprung up and online auctions for rare bottles appear regularly now. These tiny bottles have become very powerful in the industry.

Each 5 ml bottle should last you between two and four weeks depending on how many spritzes you apply and how often you use the fragrance. If you only spritz once, a bottle can last a full month allowing you to truly experience how the eau de parfum or eau de toilette smells on your skin. If you like two or three spritzes, you are looking at two-week’s worth of scent.

We recently spotted this collector set from New York-based fashion house Oscar de la Renta and were immediately charmed. The full-sized Bella Blanca and Bella Rosa fragrances feature an etched floral motif that wraps around the bottle like a cuff bracelet. The design was actually inspired by Oscar’s fine jewellery collection that sells in top luxury department stores around the world. You’ll see tiny leaves, branches, buds and flowers – in either white or pale pink. The design is even more enchanting in miniature version.

Oscar de la Renta’s Bella Blanca eau de parfum is an elegant chypre-floral for her with notes of pear, lily-of-the-valley, green leaves, jasmine, tuberose, orange blossom, rose, musk, sandalwood and white iris. It is the green notes that gives this floral fragrance a refreshing and clean character. Bella Rosa, is a chypre-floral too but with a more romantic personality. The scent features notes of freesia, mandarin orange, juicy pink pepper, pink rose, jasmine, orris, patchouli, amber and sandalwood. Both were created by perfumer Harry Fremont.

With their feminine and romantic personalities, both Bella fragrances have become very popular with brides. They are using them as their signature wedding fragrance – a wonderful choice. This mini set would make a beautiful engagement gift for any bride.
