1 Lily-of-the-Valley or “Muguet” as it is called in French
It’s a tradition in France to offer loved ones a sprig of lily-of-the-valley on May 1^st as a gesture of good fortune and luck. The exchange dates back to mediaeval times when King Charles IX received a sprig of the flower on May 1^st, 1561. So taken with the gesture, he decided to return the gesture and offer the flower to every lady in his court. From then on, it became a charming tradition in France. Florists set up little booths throughout Paris on the first and sell little bouquets of muguet tied with ribbons. Some fragrance houses offer lily-of-the-valley-themed fragrances on May 1^st only.

2 The bottle design
Remarkably, the design and production of perfume flacons typically take twice as long to perfect than composing the actual fragrance. Most bottles take two years to design, test and perfect. 5 The Stork Club
The Manhattan Night Club operated from 1929 to 1965 and attracted the most famous celebrities, authors and wealthy elite who considered themselves “café society”.
