One of the biggest trends in the world of perfumery emerging for 2023 is fascinating. It’s an evolution of the mindfulness trend that gained momentum during the pandemic. The concept was to slow down and appreciate all aspects of your life. As tech advances increased the velocity of our daily lives with even more information constantly hitting us, these lifestyle experts and therapists suggested we move in the opposite direction. Slow down and enjoy.
We first saw this movement begin as the practice of daily yoga took off. It then moved to food and wine. Experts encouraged us to stop and truly appreciate the taste of our meals and our wine.
In the world of perfumery, the message for 2023 is to invest in a few fragrances with the highest quality ingredients and craftsmanship you can afford. Less is more. Research and sample prestige eau de parfums composed by the world’s top perfumers. Find a couple of fragrances that make you feel wonderful when you smell them. If you love citrus, look for scents that feature the highest quality bergamot, Sicilian lemon or Amalfi mandarin. You’ll be able to instantly tell if the ingredients are premium with your first whiff. Spend a little time at a high end department store and sample different scents. It is similar to shopping at a Vintages store for fine wine and cognac. You can tell a really great wine the minute it hits your tastebuds.
Once you find one or two fragrances you truly love, take a moment in the morning to inhale and enjoy them. Think about the passion and craftsmanship that went into composing each one. Think about the farmers who lovingly tended the farms where the flowers grew. And don’t forget the bottle designers who can spend upwards of three years perfecting the flacons.
We love this emerging trend as it reminds us to slow down and appreciate great fragrances. It’s an art form and one of the joys of life.

January 15, 2023 at 9:49 amI call this a hidden Covid blessing. Before I’d put on a fragrance and never really appreciate the notes in a fragrance. With all the lockdowns I turned to fragrance to brighten my mood. Scent Lodge has opened the doors in how to appreciate of fine art of fragrance. I’ve purchase more fragrances in the last three years because fragrance makes me happy. Thank you again Scent Lodge team for this amazing platform.
