J by Jennifer Aniston Eau de Parfum, 85 ml
J by Jennifer Aniston is a creamy floral fragrance for her with notes of salty sea accord, bergamot, aromatic white flowers, sandalwood, Tahitian bourbon vanilla and musk. It’s meant to evoke the freshness of the sea with sun on sandy beaches.
She Says:
Straight out of the bottle it’s a dose of nostalgia—not for Rachel Green’s hair (though never say never because hey: the 90s are back!) but for vintage Coppertone suntan oil and vanilla. It’s like an after-dark version of Beach by Bobbi Brown (but much more affordable). Wear this to remind yourself of that time Tulum. You’ll need to reapply often, though, because like both sunscreen and the tropical vacation, it doesn’t last long enough. 2.5 out of 4
He Says:
I imagine Aniston sitting at her kitchen table with her management team drinking Smart Water and applying some Aveeno moisturizer. Oops. Dry eyes. Time for a couple drops of Eyelove. She takes a quick look in the mirror and pulls out some Living Proof hairspray to tame a couple stray hairs. Maybe she should book a quick getaway? Wonder what’s available on Emirates Airlines? Hmm… maybe she just needs a glass of cold milk right now. Oh, what were you saying? I need a fragrance. Okay. Just make it beachy. J opens with a salt sea accord, water lily and bergamot. There are a handful of white flowers then vanilla and sandalwood. It’s not offensive with it but comes across as soulless. It feels like someone in brand management just checked off “make a fragrance” off her list. 2 out of 4

August 3, 2020 at 3:14 amLove your reviews! This one wasn’t enough of a READ! If you’re going to give a cologne a 2, then let’s hear a bit more acerbic sarcasm! I know, Dave Lackie, you’ve got it in you!

August 1, 2020 at 8:00 pmDamn Dave. You had me at beach scent but I trust you so a meager scent is off the list. Too bad, I adore her.

August 1, 2020 at 12:30 pmRemember when Jennifer Aniston refused to promote products or ‘sell out’? LOL!
So I’m actually interested in this, I got nostalgic just reading ‘Coppertone suntan oil and vanilla’ made me yearn for long lazy summer days at the trailer.

August 1, 2020 at 12:26 pmIt’s one of the reason I don’t go celebrity fragrances. I feel it’s let’s see how much the public still loves me? Cute bottle design and I love the blue, but I’m not rushing out to purchase this fragrance. Thank you both for your opinions. @959angela

August 1, 2020 at 9:47 amThe notes sound rather generic. Nothing particularly new or enticing. I agree with you both ! Dave that is probably exactly how the fragrance was created. A “what haven’t I done yet” attitude. Little thought and heart results in a soulless fragrance. Terribly sad!

August 1, 2020 at 2:03 amI really like all the notes that are mentioned, but I would’t want a fragrance that could come across as soulless.
