Supermodel Imaan Hammam stars in new Donna Karan Cashmere Mist campaign
Donna Karan’s iconic 1994 fragrance Cashmere Mist is getting a contemporary update with a new global ad campaign starring runway star Imaan Hammam. The New York fashion designer originally created the eau de parfum to evoke the sensation of cashmere against skin, a trademark of her aesthetic.
According to a report in WWD, the campaign was shot by Swedish fashion photographer Mikael Jansson and co-created by ad executive Trey Laird. “We revisited the Stockholm Archipelago, where the first Cashmere Mist campaign was shot over 30 years ago, capturing the same ethereal, sensual beauty but with a modern lens,” he told the publication.
“To represent a scent that has earned its place in the Fragrance Foundation Hall of Fame is incredibly exciting,” explained Hammam to WWD. “I love that this campaign celebrates its history while introducing it to a new audience. It’s about confidence, sensuality and embracing your power.”
Hammam is a 28-year-old Dutch fashion model who has appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine an astonishing 22 times. She is one of the most in-demand and one of the highest paid models of her generations. Born in Amsterdam October 5th, 1996 to an Egyptian father and Moroccan mother, Imaan is known for elegance, professionalism and confident runway walk. Anna Wintour has been a big supporter of the model from the beginning.
