Introducing Coach’s blockbuster fragrance: Wild Rose

American fashion brand Coach is taking us on a romantic walk through a meadow of wild flowers in this season’s new fragrance launch: Wild Rose. It’s a modern fruity-floral scent for her that blends crisp red currant and fresh bergamot citrus with delicate wild rose, jasmine and tonka bean. It’s bright and optimistic with a carefree character. We love that is has a light woodsy dry-down that is comforting and warm.

“Coach Wild Rose captures the free-spirited attitude of Coach. Bold and sensual, it evokes the untamed beauty of fields of wildflowers and a feeling of possibility,” says Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers. The scent was inspired by Coach’s prairie floral prints, a symbol of the house’s free-spirited attitude. In creating the fragrance, perfumer Marie Salamagne set out to capture the feeling of joy and the anticipation of romantic summer evenings.

You’ll notice the wild rose accord is quite different from a traditional Turkish or Damask rose note used in many scents today. This is a light, fresh floral note that has an airy facet – like smelling a rose in a field with a light breeze. Marie skillfully uses a very light hand with the rose note which gives it a charm and innocence. The white jasmine note adds a romantic facet that balances the freshness of the bergamot citrus.

You’ll also see that the iconic Coach for her bottle now boasts an ombré burgundy gradient, a nod to relaxing summer afternoons. There is a matching burgundy hangtag, a symbol of Coach’s lasting quality and craftsmanship. The C charm adds a sweet detail and the turnlock spray cap evokes the closure that has appeared on the company’s bags for decades.

The Coach Wild Rose campaign features model Lexi Boling in a wildflower meadow on a sunlit afternoon. Created with Coach collaborator and superstar photographer Steven Meisel, the images strike a unique balance of daring attitude with the soft romance of sensual florals.
