New York fashion house Oscar de la Renta has just unveiled a playful, spirited and alluring collection of fragrances for her. It’s called the Alibi POP Collection and it is the brainchild of ODLR Co-Creative Directors Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim. The pair partnered with a trio of talented perfumers to reimagine the spirit of the fashion collections into eaux de parfum.

Oscar de la Renta Alibi Eau So Charming

Scent style: a free-spirited rose-floral-amber fragrance for her

Fragrance Description: The juicy sweetness of wild berries and the crisp citrus of bergamot blend beautifully with a bouquet of rose, orange blossom, iris and precious Centifolia rose in this modern eau de toilette. But it is the sweet praline and tonka that gives it warm, comforting character. It’s as light and carefree as a summer day.

“I was always inspired by Oscar de la Renta’s ability to balance sophistication with joyful exuberance. For this fragrance, my vision was to evoke the playful and carefree sophistication in Oscar’s fashion,” explains Dir. “Built around a beautiful feminine heart of rose Centifolia, jasmine sambac, orange blossom and blonde iris, I created a colourful and vibrant top with bergamot and wild berries. For a sweet and youthful addiction, I composed a back of tonka, praline, patchouli and amberwoods. This Oscar woman embraces life with full colours and radiates fun.”

Scent style: an elegant citrus-woody-floral fragrance for her

Fragrance Description: Eau so Chic re-imagines the classic floral-woody style of fragrance by adding fragrant magnolia blossom, energizing ginger and juicy nectarine. What makes this fragrance special is how each note is perfectly balanced.

Ingredients: mandarin oil, ginger, petit grain, jasmine sambac, magnolia blossom, nectarine, cedarwood, musk, amber crystals

Scent style: a fresh green-fruity-floral fragrance for her

Fragrance Description: Eau So Lucky Eau de Toilette adds a crisp, refreshing green facet to a fruity-floral composition giving it a modern and clean character. Juicy green pear is layer over tart green apple, elegant peony and cedarwood. It’s a nice balance between sweet and tart notes, floral and earthy.

Ingredients: green tea, green pear, green apple, cardamom, clary sage, rose, peony, mugane, cedarwood, moss, praline, musk

The perfumer: Mathieu Nardin

“I was inspired by Oscar de la Renta’s close relationship with nature and most recent collaborations with the New York Botanical Garden. They evoked a brightness, hopeful spirit in the beauty of nature that surrounds us,” says Nardin. “I composed the fragrance around a petally, dewy floral heart of rose and peony accentuated by the natuality of clary sage. To create a modern and unexpected freshness, I combined green tea with cardamom. The trail is elegant and memorable with textured cedarwood wrapped in musk, addictive praline and moss.”
